Description
2024 SUZUKI DR-Z400 SUPER MOTO
GOEGEOUS BLACK EDITION WITH ONLY 4,497 MILES
LOADED WITH UPGRADES & IN EXCELLENT CONDITION
If you know the Suzuki DR-Z400, then you already know why these motorcycles have developed such a loyal, almost cult-like following.
Suzuki kept the formula simple: build a lightweight, incredibly durable single-cylinder four-stroke motorcycle that is inexpensive to own, easy to maintain, fun to ride, and capable of taking an incredible amount of abuse.
The DR-Z400 has earned a reputation as one of the most dependable single-cylinder four-strokes ever produced. It is the ultimate around-town, backroad, commuter, super moto and all-around fun machine.
This 2024 example has only 4,497 miles and was owned by a friend of ours with a young family who simply didn't have much time to ride it. It was primarily used for casual riding around town and remains in excellent condition.
The blacked-out styling looks fantastic, with a black frame, black bodywork, gray graphics and factory black 17-inch wheels. It gives the bike a thoroughly modern, aggressive appearance while retaining the simple, proven mechanical package that made the DR-Z famous.
LEGENDARY DR-Z400 PLATFORM
At the heart of the DR-Z is Suzuki's proven single-cylinder, four-stroke, dual-overhead-cam engine.
It features:
-
Electric start
-
Single-carburetor simplicity
-
Dual overhead cams
-
Proven four-stroke engine design
-
Excellent fuel economy
-
Lightweight chassis
-
Strong brakes
-
Long-travel, performance-oriented suspension
-
Massive aftermarket support
One of the great things about owning a DR-Z400 is how easy they are to personalize.
Because Suzuki produced variations of this platform for so many years—including dirt, dual-sport and supermoto versions—the aftermarket is enormous.
Want more power? Big-bore kits, carburetor upgrades and exhaust systems are readily available.
Want to change the look? There are endless body kits, graphics packages, lighting kits and accessories.
Want to leave it exactly the way it is?
This one is ready to ride right now.
TASTEFUL UPGRADES
This motorcycle already has several nice upgrades, including:
-
Trail Master radial tires front and rear
-
Factory black 17-inch wheels
-
Rear luggage rack
-
Black and gray ribbed seat cover
-
NRC tail tidy kit
-
Skid protection
-
Passenger footpegs
-
Full street equipment
The NRC tail tidy cleans up the rear of the motorcycle nicely and gives it a much sportier appearance.
The luggage rack also makes this a much more practical motorcycle if you plan on commuting, running errands or doing longer rides.
EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION
The motorcycle has clearly been babied.
The original:
-
Handlebars
-
Turn signals
-
Plastics
-
Graphics
-
Fuel tank
-
Controls
-
Mirrors
are all intact and present well.
The fuel tank is especially nice, with beautiful paint and no signs that this motorcycle was subjected to serious off-road use.
The bike came to us in such good condition that very little was required.
It starts easily and runs exactly like it should.
The:
-
Battery
-
Tires
-
Chain
-
Sprockets
-
Brakes
-
Suspension
are all in very good usable condition.
It Just needs a new owner.
The DR-Z400 chassis and suspension were developed with serious dirt-bike DNA.
The suspension design shares its heritage with Suzuki's RM-series motocross machines, giving the DR-Z considerably more suspension capability than the average street motorcycle.
This is a motorcycle that can comfortably handle:
-
Rough New England roads
-
City riding
-
Backroads
-
Commuting
-
Weekend rides
-
Gravel roads
-
Curbs and uneven pavement
-
Light adventure riding
It is lightweight, maneuverable and an absolute blast to ride.
Whether you're an experienced rider or simply looking for something uncomplicated and reliable, there is a reason so many people keep their DR-Zs for years.
We've seen extremely high-mileage examples continue to provide dependable daily transportation because the basic design is so proven.
CHEAP TO OWN – EASY TO LIVE WITH
Another huge advantage of the DR-Z400 is the cost of ownership.
These motorcycles are:
-
Fuel efficient
-
Inexpensive to register
-
Generally inexpensive to insure
-
Easy to service
-
Easy to find parts for
-
Simple mechanically
-
Extremely durable
Parts availability is excellent because Suzuki produced the DR-Z platform for such a long period of time.
There is also an enormous enthusiast community and aftermarket supporting these machines.
READY FOR TWO-UP RIDING
Unlike some minimalist super motos, this motorcycle retains its passenger pegs and has a saddle large enough for occasional two-up riding.
Ride it to work during the week and take your passenger down to the beach on the weekend.
You've also got:
-
Keyed ignition
-
Locking fuel cap
-
Mirrors
-
Simple digital instrumentation
-
Excellent brakes
-
Full street equipment
It's everything you need without unnecessary complexity.
CONDITION DISCLOSURE
There are a couple of cosmetic scratches on one side panel and some light scratching on the muffler.
We could have replaced the side panel or refinished the muffler, but there was no reason to unnecessarily increase the cost of the motorcycle.
The important areas—particularly the fuel tank, chassis and overall bodywork—present extremely well.
The motorcycle does not show the kind of wear you normally see on a machine that has spent its life being ridden aggressively off-road.
Instead, it presents exactly like what it is: a very lightly used, adult-owned motorcycle with only 4,497 miles.
Buy a brand-new motorcycle and depreciation starts the moment you roll it out of the dealership.
This DR-Z400 gives you the opportunity to own an extremely clean, late-model example with several useful upgrades already installed while avoiding much of that initial depreciation.
The bike is ready to ride immediately.
No waiting for parts.
No accessory installation.
No project.
Just turn the key, hit the electric starter and go have some fun.
If you've owned a DR-Z before, you probably already understand exactly what makes them special.
If you've never owned one, you owe it to yourself to try one.
They're lightweight, reliable, inexpensive to own, extremely durable and ridiculously fun to ride.
This 2024 DR-Z400 has only 4,497 miles, looks fantastic in its blacked-out color scheme, has several tasteful upgrades and needs nothing except a new home.
