2011 Harley-Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe

Museum-Quality • Loaded With Over 18k In Upgrades • $36,000+ Invested • 4,879 Miles

A Spectacular Piece of American Motorcycle History

This 2011 Harley-Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe is far more than simply a motorcycle. It is a beautifully preserved example of Harley-Davidson styling, heritage, Americana and craftsmanship, with an extraordinary collection of genuine Harley-Davidson accessories and high-end custom components.

The current owner purchased this motorcycle new and accumulated only 4,000 miles. A true enthusiast and perfectionist, he spared no expense transforming the motorcycle into an exceptionally detailed, highly accessorized example. Documentation and invoices indicate more than $36,000 was invested in the motorcycle and its accessories.

The result is a Softail Deluxe that belongs in a museum collection or modern art gallery.

A truly stunning head turner, a museum quality investment piece.

A Direct Link to Harley-Davidson Heritage

The FLSTN Deluxe is one of those motorcycles that immediately looks like a Harley-Davidson should look.

Its styling pays tribute to classic Harley-Davidson FL models, particularly the iconic late-1940s motorcycles. The substantial front fender, large whitewall tires, chrome-spoke wheels, traditional tank-mounted instrumentation, tombstone-style taillight and sweeping lines all contribute to a distinctly traditional Harley-Davidson appearance.

This motorcycle also has a special connection to the 1993 Harley-Davidson FLSTN "Cow Glide," another historically significant Softail in the collection at the New England Motorcycle Museum. The similarities in styling and paint treatment make the lineage between these motorcycles particularly interesting.

It's a modern Harley-Davidson that unmistakably carries the visual DNA of the company's classic FL heritage.

The deep whitewalls perfectly complement the Deluxe's traditional styling and massive chrome spoke wheels.

The tires still retain their fresh appearance and new-tire tread characteristics.

Wheels & Chassis

The wheels are one of the most striking features of the motorcycle.

The bike wears enormous chrome fat-spoke wheels that are beautifully complemented by the wide whitewall tires.

Additional chrome detailing includes:

  • Chrome wheel hubs

  • Chrome axle covers

  • Chrome brake components

  • Chrome caliper

The current handlebars are the third set installed, reflecting the previous owner's meticulous approach to getting the motorcycle exactly the way he wanted it.

Engine & Performance

The motorcycle isn't just about appearance.

It features a Screamin' Eagle Stage 1 performance setup, including:

  • Screamin' Eagle high-flow intake

  • High-flow air filter

  • Screamin' Eagle tuner

  • Screamin' Eagle spark plug components

  • Vance & Hines exhaust system

The intake and exhaust combination was selected to complement the Stage 1 setup and provide the motorcycle with an improved breathing package.

The engine compartment has also been extensively detailed with chrome accessories and billet components.

You'll find chrome:

  • Pushrod covers

  • Bolt covers

  • Rocker-area hardware covers

  • Coil cover

  • Spark plug covers

  • Air cleaner

  • Transmission components

  • Primary components

  • Inspection cover

  • Numerous additional Harley-Davidson accessories

Vance & Hines True-Dual Exhaust

One of the standout upgrades is the Vance & Hines true-dual exhaust system with fishtail-style ends.

The long, sweeping exhaust design fits the traditional appearance of the Softail Deluxe exceptionally well.

The combination of the fishtail exhaust, whitewalls, chrome wheels and traditional FL styling gives this motorcycle a distinctly classic American motorcycle appearance.

Comfort & Touring Accessories

The motorcycle is also equipped for longer rides.

It includes a number of touring-oriented accessories, including:

  • Quick-detach windshield

  • Quick-detach backrest

  • Chrome luggage rack

  • Harley-Davidson highway pegs

  • Chrome floorboards

  • Heel-and-toe shifter

The windshield and backrest are currently removed from the motorcycle because they aren't necessary for its cleanest presentation.

They are included with the motorcycle and can be installed easily when desired.

The backrest alone reportedly cost more than $576, and the windshield/backrest combination represents approximately $1,000 in accessories that are currently off the motorcycle.

For long-distance riding, these components can be extremely useful.

Beautiful Original Paint & Leather

The motorcycle retains its original factory paint, which presents beautifully.

The previous owner was an exceptionally meticulous caretaker and reportedly spent considerable time maintaining and waxing the motorcycle.

The original genuine Harley-Davidson leather seat is equally impressive, featuring beautiful factory stitching and a traditional grab rail.

The seat, tank, fenders and paintwork all contribute to the motorcycle's exceptionally clean presentation.

Custom Billet Accessories

Among the many upgrades is a beautifully machined CNC billet-aluminum storage pouch.

This is an aftermarket component rather than a Harley-Davidson factory accessory, but it is exceptionally well-made and complements the motorcycle's extensive chrome and billet theme.

It's useful for carrying small items such as registration documents, glasses, rain gear or other riding essentials.

Heritage Details

Several design elements reinforce the Softail Deluxe's connection to Harley-Davidson's past.

Among them:

  • Traditional tank-mounted speedometer

  • Integrated fuel gauge

  • Classic FL-style front fender

  • Large whitewall tires

  • Fat-spoke chrome wheels

  • Tombstone-style rear taillight

  • Deep fenders

  • Chrome fender struts

  • Traditional Softail styling

  • Leather saddle

  • Classic Harley-Davidson proportions

It is a modern motorcycle that deliberately celebrates the appearance of Harley-Davidson's classic FL models.

Museum-Level Presentation

The motorcycle was recently professionally detailed at the New England Motorcycle Museum.

Despite its extensive chrome and accessory package, the motorcycle arrived exceptionally clean. The complete detailing process required only approximately three hours, including cleaning and polishing the chrome, spokes, wheels and numerous accessory components.

That speaks volumes about how carefully the motorcycle was maintained before arriving at the museum.

This isn't a neglected project that was recently cleaned up for sale.

It was already an exceptionally well-preserved motorcycle.

Condition & Mechanical Notes

The motorcycle has approximately 4,000 miles and has been thoroughly serviced.

It has been test ridden and is described as fully serviced and ready to ride.

The motorcycle presents as a highly preserved, extensively accessorized example of the FLSTN Softail Deluxe.

A Rare Opportunity

There are plenty of Softail Deluxe motorcycles available.

There are far fewer that have been accessorized and maintained to this level.

The amount of time, money and effort required to recreate this motorcycle would be substantial. Sourcing the individual Harley-Davidson components, dealing with availability and backorders, removing and reinstalling major components, and having everything professionally installed would represent a significant project.

The previous owner has already done that work.

The motorcycle is now finished and ready to be enjoyed.

From the New England Motorcycle Museum

This motorcycle is proudly represented by the New England Motorcycle Museum and is part of a collection dedicated to preserving and celebrating significant motorcycles and American motorcycling history.

The FLSTN Softail Deluxe occupies a particularly interesting place in Harley-Davidson history because it combines modern Softail engineering with styling that intentionally reaches back to the company's classic FL motorcycles.

At 15 years old, this 2011 model is also approaching the age where collector interest in well-preserved examples can become increasingly relevant.

Included With the Motorcycle

The sale includes the motorcycle and its extensive accessory package, including the removable:

  • Windshield

  • Backrest

  • Touring accessories

The motorcycle is sold with the components and equipment described in this listing.

Final Thoughts

This is the kind of motorcycle that deserves to be appreciated in person.

The chrome, whitewalls, deep fenders, classic FL styling, traditional lighting, leather, billet accessories and extensive Harley-Davidson catalog components all come together to create an exceptionally distinctive Softail Deluxe.

It isn't simply another FLSTN.

It is a carefully built, exceptionally detailed example with an extraordinary amount of money and attention invested into it.

If you're looking for a Softail Deluxe that stands apart from the crowd, this motorcycle deserves serious consideration.

Good luck finding a nicer one. You may find a different one, but finding another with this combination of condition, accessories, documentation, investment and presentation will be difficult.

Thank you for looking, and thank you for supporting the New England Motorcycle Museum.

Accessories
