THE LEGENDARY BIKE RIDDEN TO RICKY CARMICHAEL'S PERFECT SEASON
Feast your eyes on this absolutely spectacular 2002 Honda CR250R, one of the most iconic two-stroke motocross machines ever produced!
2002 was the year Ricky Carmichael made history aboard his factory Honda CR250R, becoming the first rider in AMA motocross history to complete a perfect outdoor national season, winning all 24 motos! Carmichael also captured the 2002 AMA Supercross Championship, sweeping both major championships for Honda.
The 2002 CR250R featured Honda's third-generation twin-spar aluminum frame, a redesigned 249cc case-reed two-stroke engine, and an electronically controlled RC exhaust power valve. With a reported dry weight of just 193 pounds, the CR250R delivered extraordinary power-to-weight performance, razor-sharp handling, and championship-winning capability.
And the example offered here is truly exceptional!
MUSEUM-QUALITY ORIGINAL SURVIVOR — NOT A RESTORATION!
This CR250R is an extraordinarily well-preserved original survivor that has spent much of its life carefully stored and displayed. It has been ridden but never raced.
This motorcycle retains an incredible amount of its original factory components, including:
-
Original factory-mounted Japanese front and rear tires with period-correct date codes
-
Original chain and sprockets
-
Original Honda plastics, fenders, number plates, decals, and graphics
-
Original seat and seat cover
-
Original handlebars, levers, and footpegs
-
Original radiators and radiator protectors
-
Original fork protectors, still in beautiful condition
-
Original wheels, rims, and factory hardware
-
Original engine internals, never disassembled according to its known history
-
Original warning labels and even the original chain-guide decal!
The aluminum frame rails and swingarm are in remarkably pristine condition, with virtually none of the typical wear associated with a 24-year-old motocross machine. The radiators are straight, the wheelset is beautiful, and the original footpegs show minimal wear.
The plastics have not been replaced, the graphics remain intact, and the original fork protectors have avoided the discoloration typically seen on these machines.
This is the kind of originality that simply cannot be recreated with a restoration
PRO CIRCUIT EXHAUST & V-FORCE PERFORMANCE UPGRADES
This CR250R retains its original engine while benefiting from two highly desirable performance upgrades:
Pro Circuit Performance Exhaust: Delivers that unmistakable two-stroke bark with crisp, aggressive power delivery.
V-Force Performance Reed Valve: Improves intake response and complements the Pro Circuit exhaust.
Together, these upgrades create an excellent Stage One performance package while preserving the motorcycle's exceptional original character.
This CR250R runs, sounds, and performs better than new!

ORIGINAL FACTORY TIRES — AN EXTRAORDINARY COLLECTOR DETAIL!
One of the most remarkable features of this motorcycle is its original factory-mounted Japanese tires, still displaying their period-correct manufacturing date codes.
We considered replacing them but intentionally preserved them because they provide tangible evidence of this CR250R's extraordinary originality.
For collectors, the originals are an important part of this machine's history.
A RARE OPPORTUNITY FOR HONDA COLLECTORS
Finding a 2002 CR250R is one thing. Finding one with its original tires, chain, sprockets, plastics, graphics, seat cover, and exceptionally preserved chassis is another.
Most surviving examples have been raced hard, heavily modified, rebuilt, or restored. This motorcycle offers something increasingly difficult to find: authentic factory originality combined with outstanding cosmetic condition and professional mechanical preparation.
The 2002 CR250R represents a historic chapter in Honda's motocross legacy, made famous by Ricky Carmichael's undefeated outdoor championship season.
As classic Japanese two-stroke motocross machines become increasingly collectible, exceptional original survivors like this stand apart from ordinary used race bikes.
This is a museum-quality motorcycle worthy of a serious Honda collection!
