Description

1993 HONDA CT70 – 256 Original Miles – Museum Quality – From the Jeff Cyr Collection

The Worlds Finest 93 CT70 For Sale On Planet Earth

Second To Last Year Of Trail 70 Production

Tahitian Red Original Paint

Feast your eyes on the lowest-mileage, most original 1993 Honda CT70 available anywhere in the world today.

With just 256 original miles, this stunning CT70 presents an opportunity that rarely comes along. The question most enthusiasts ask is simple: How does a bike survive for more than three decades in virtually brand-new condition?

The answer is simple—provenance.

This CT70 comes from the renowned Jeff Cyr Collection. Jeff worked for decades in the parts department at Mickey Finn's Honda and had an unmatched eye for finding exceptional Hondas. With access to pristine trade-ins and dealer inventory opportunities, he quietly assembled a collection of approximately twenty of the finest original Honda motorcycles you'll ever find. Following Jeff's passing, his brother Tim entrusted Kaplan Cycles with the responsibility of preserving and preparing these motorcycles for their next chapter.

This CT70 is one of the crown jewels of that collection.

Clean Title & The Original Owners Manual Are Included.

A Time Capsule Honda

I've ridden and owned countless CT70s over the years. Most examples you'll find today have 3,000, 5,000, many with 10,000-plus miles and show the wear that comes from decades of use. This bike is different.

The engine starts easily, runs flawlessly, shifts perfectly, and has the crisp, tight feel that only a true ultra-low-mile motorcycle can deliver. The suspension remains plush, the controls are precise, and every aspect of the riding experience reminds you that this motorcycle has been preserved and is brand new condition.

Aside from a tasteful upgrade to a premium gold 420 chain, this CT70 remains exactly as Honda built it.

Mechanical Condition

Although the bike had been exceptionally preserved, our service department performed a comprehensive recommissioning to ensure it operates exactly as Honda intended.

Recent service includes:

  • Carburetor rebuilt

  • New pilot jet installed

  • New float bowl gasket

  • New fuel lines

  • New air filter

  • Airbox and filter cage cleaned

  • New 12-volt battery installed

  • Oil changed with Bell-Ray 10W-40

  • New premium gold 420 chain installed

  • Front and rear sprockets cleaned and inspected

  • New Fuel Tank Installed

  • Complete fuel system service

  • Fresh VP Ethanol free Small Engine Fuel

The original fuel left in the bike over time had compromised the tank. Rather than attempt a repair, we sourced and installed a brand-new Honda fuel tank. The original chrome fuel cap was transferred to the new tank, preserving the factory appearance.

The inside of the tank is absolutely pristine brand new.

All electrical systems function exactly as they should:

  • Headlight high and low beam

  • Turn signals

  • Horn

  • Neutral indicator

  • Ignition system

Everything works flawlessly.

Cosmetic Condition

This CT70 underwent our signature Rotisserie Detail Process, a meticulous top-to-bottom cosmetic restoration and preservation service.

Highlights include:

  • Original factory paint throughout

  • Original factory decals and warning labels

  • Original seat cover and foam

  • Original tires

  • Original fenders

  • Original wheels

Additional cosmetic work performed:

  • Clutch cover professionally refinished due to minor scratches

  • Center stand refinished where factory paint had worn

  • Wheels polished

  • Chrome polished and detailed

  • Rear shocks cleaned and detailed

  • Tires cleaned and preserved

  • Engine professionally detailed

  • Entire motorcycle steam cleaned, hand washed, and polished

The result is a motorcycle that presents as close to new as you could realistically expect from a 1993 model.

Open the seat and you'll find crisp original foam and seat materials that look virtually untouched. The paint shines beautifully. The decals remain crisp. The hardware is exceptionally clean.

There is virtually no evidence of wear, or use.

Investment and Documentation

Kaplan Cycles invested:

  • 15 hours of professional shop labor at $150/hr = $2,250

  • Parts and materials = $128

Total service investment: $2,378

That figure does not include acquisition purchase costs or transportation expenses.

We paid a premium to acquire this motorcycle because examples like this simply do not exist anymore.

Why This CT70 Is Special

Most CT70s were purchased for one reason: to be ridden and enjoyed. As a result, very few survived in this level of originality and preservation.

Finding a CT70 with:

  • 256 original miles

  • Original paint

  • Original seat

  • Original tires

  • Original decals

  • Provenance

  • Meticulous ownership history

This is not simply a vintage minibike.

It is a genuine Honda time capsule and a museum-quality collector piece.

Whether you're a serious Honda collector, a CT70 enthusiast, or someone looking for the finest example available, this motorcycle deserves your consideration.

Additional motorcycles from the Jeff Cyr Collection—including an MB5, XR70R, XL80S, and many other exceptional Hondas—will be offered in the coming months as we carefully restore and preserve each machine to the standard Jeff would have wanted.
