Take a close look at this outstanding 1986 Yamaha TT350—an adult-owned, low-hour survivor that has been professionally serviced, cosmetically restored, and prepared to look, run, and ride like a new motorcycle.

Introduced as Yamaha’s answer to Honda’s legendary XR350, the TT350 combined serious off-road performance with the durability and easy-to-use power delivery that made four-stroke trail bikes so popular. With its lightweight chassis, excellent suspension, wide-ratio six-speed transmission, and responsive 350cc four-stroke engine, the TT350 earned a loyal following around the world, and remains a cult classic today.

This particular example lived the easy life. It was owned by a mature Sunday rider, stored indoors, and clearly never abused. The original frame rails are remarkably straight and free of dents. The original wheel assemblies, rims, swingarm, and chassis components remain in exceptional condition, evidence of its low hours and careful ownership.

Legendary Yamaha Four-Stroke Performance

The TT350 is powered by Yamaha’s durable 350cc, double-overhead-cam, four-stroke single-cylinder engine. Its wide, tractable power curve delivers excellent traction and just the right amount of engine braking, making it an incredibly enjoyable machine for trail riding—and one of the best vintage four-strokes for lofting the front wheel.

Power is delivered through a six-speed wide-ratio transmission that works equally well on tight trails, open terrain, fire roads, and recreational off-road adventures. The tubular-steel full-cradle chassis was modeled after Yamaha’s motocross machines, giving the TT350 a lightweight, nimble, and agile feel that separated it from many of its heavier four-stroke competitors.

Yamaha also equipped it with serious suspension for the era, including long-travel front forks and a motocross-inspired rear shock. These motorcycles developed a well-earned reputation for being stone-axe reliable, nearly bulletproof, and enormously fun to ride.

Low-Hour Survivor

This TT350 retains its original fuel tank, shrouds, chassis, swingarm, wheel assemblies, and many of its core components. The condition tells the story:

• No significant dents in the lower frame rails

• Original wheels remain straight and exceptionally clean and spokes are in good condition

• Swingarm shows minimal evidence of hard off-road use

• Runs, rides, shifts, and stops exceptionally well

It has lived a relatively easy life—and that is becoming increasingly difficult to find on a nearly 40-year-old off-road motorcycle.

$7,864 Restoration and Service Investment

Once we started working on this TT350, we decided to go all the way. Our four-page work order documents a total investment of $7,864, including 43 hours of professional shop labor plus restoration parts.

That investment does not include the original cost of the motorcycle or the expense of transporting it to our facility. As is often the case with our museum-quality restorations, it will likely sell for less than the amount invested in the restoration alone.

Engine, Fuel System and Electrical Service

The mechanical work included:

• New replacement OEM stator assembly

• Fuel tank drained, rinsed, cleaned, inspected, and cosmetically restored

• Major carburetor cleaning and rebuild

• New carburetor rebuild kit

• Final carburetor tuning and road testing

• New fuel line

• New carburetor vent lines

• New carburetor intake boots

• New air-filter cage

• New air-filter element

• Valve clearances inspected and adjusted

• New clutch-cover gasket

• Fresh Spectro 10W-40 engine oil

• New engine-oil filter

• Fresh VP non-ethanol fuel

• SuperTrapp silencer with open end cap

The result is an engine that starts, idles, revs, and performs exactly as it should.

Brake and Chassis Restoration

The braking and chassis systems received equally thorough attention:

• Replacement OEM front brake caliper

• Replacement OEM front master cylinder

• Front caliper and master cylinder vapor-honed and rebuilt

• Front brake system flushed and bled

• Fresh Motul brake fluid

• New front brake pads

• Rear brake completely rebuilt

Christy is producing a brand-new set of Yamaha decals for the motorcycle. The decals currently shown are not perfect, so a fresh set will be professionally installed before the motorcycle leaves our facility.

Extensive Cosmetic Restoration and Detailing

This was far more than a quick wash and tune-up. The motorcycle received our full rotisserie detailing process. It was extensively dismantled, steam-cleaned, hot-water pressure-washed, hand-washed, polished, waxed, and carefully reassembled.

The following components were professionally polished:

• Aluminum rims

• Wheel spokes

• SuperTrapp silencer

• Swingarm

• Front fork lowers

The frame rails, engine, exhaust, and footpegs were also refinished. The original tank and shrouds were carefully restored to the best of our ability while preserving the character of the motorcycle.

Today, this TT350 presents as close to a new machine as reasonably possible without performing a complete concours frame-off restoration. It remains an authentic 1986 Yamaha, but one that has benefited from an extraordinary amount of professional labor, new parts, mechanical service, and careful detailing.

All motorcycles & vehicles are sold as-is where-is.

Kaplan Cycles guarantees all motorcycles are as-described. Please read the entire description and watch the entire video before bidding.

A non-refundable deposit is due immediately on purchase. PayPal or Credit Card is accepted for the deposit.

Cash (In-Person), Card (+3% fee), or Wire Transfer are our only accepted forms of final payment.

Full payment must be made within 7 days of auction close.

Your motorcycle must be picked up within 30 days of auction close. 

Exceptions are made only for international buyers OR buyers who have ALREADY made transport arrangements with a third party.

If a motorcycle is purchased and left here for longer than 30 days without written permission from Kaplan Cycles it will be resold. In the case of a re-sale, the owner will be entitled to a refund less storage fees ($25/ day beginning 30 days from auction close) ONLY if the motorcycle was paid in full on-time within the auction terms.

We always describe our motorcycles as accurately as possible.

You are purchasing a classic motorcycle. Even in cases where a bike may be in good running/ operating condition, new problems & idiosyncrasies can arise over-time from sitting or regular use.

If you have an issue with the motorcycle you’ve received, contact us within 24 hours of delivery and before leaving feedback so that we can address your concerns.

It is important you have at least a basic mechanical knowledge before purchasing and operating a classic motorcycle.

In some cases we will sell motorcycles without title or registration. In these cases we guarantee all motorcycles sold are free and clear. We will always provide a route to obtaining title. Generally in these cases, the motorcycle will be sold at a discount to accommodate expenses involved.

Documents are mailed via USPS priority mail with a tracking number. Please allow up to 14 days after payment in full for your documents to be processed and mailed.

Keys will be shipped with the motorcycle.
