Description
1970 Kawasaki Avenger 350 A7
Pristine Museum-Quality Survivor
Fresh Rebuilt Engine, Runs Like New
Only 8,962 Original Miles
Feast your eyes on one of the most iconic early performance motorcycles ever built—the 1970 Kawasaki Avenger 350 (A7). Born in October of 1969 and delivered as a 1970 model, this machine represents Kawasaki’s bold first step into high-performance two-stroke engineering—and they absolutely nailed it.
Why This Bike Is Special
This isn’t just another vintage two-stroke—this is Kawasaki’s first true performance motorcycle, breaking away from their earlier British-licensed designs. Featuring rotary valve induction, this engine delivers a uniquely aggressive, high-revving, torque-rich powerband—often compared to forced induction in how it compresses the intake charge.
-
Period testing and factory literature rated this bike at 13.8 seconds in the quarter mile at 115 MPH
-
According to a Kawasaki engineer, this bike was quicker from 0–90 MPH than the legendary H1 500 triple
-
Lightweight, nimble, and brutally fast for its class—this was the terror of the streets in 1970
Provenance & Condition
This Avenger comes from the private collection of Billy Blythe, longtime curator of the New England Motorcycle Museum, where he has helped to preserve Motorcycle History for over 15 years.
