Few motorcycles capture the excitement of being a kid in the 1970s quite like Honda’s legendary XR75. Imagine being 12 or 13 years old in 1974 and finding one of these under the Christmas tree. The XR75 was the envy of neighborhoods across America—a lightweight, great-handling four-stroke that sounded far bigger and meaner than its displacement suggested.
This exceptional 1974 Honda XR75 has received a comprehensive frame-off restoration, including a rebuilt engine, restored chassis, professional factory-correct paintwork and a brand-new period-style JMB Racing Equipment megaphone exhaust. Honda’s XR75 engines earned a reputation for exceptional durability and reliability. Unfortunately, most examples were ridden hard, jumped, crashed and eventually worn into the ground. This motorcycle began the restoration as a remarkably solid and well-preserved example.
JMB Racing Megaphone Exhaust
One of the highlights of this XR75 is its brand-new JMB Racing Equipment megaphone exhaust. This is a period-style reproduction of the performance pipes used during the 1970s and gives the little Honda an aggressive, unmistakable four-stroke racing sound.
It features a polished aluminum mounting bracket and complements the motorcycle’s vintage racing appearance beautifully. If you heard it coming down the street without seeing it, you might think it was a much larger motorcycle.
