Description
1973 CZ 250 MX
Concours Restoration ~ Museum Quality
Last of the European Motocross Legends
Up for auction is an iconic 1973 CZ 250 MX, one of the most historically significant motocross machines ever built.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE
Before the rise of Japanese dominance, ČZ stood at the top of the motocross world. Throughout the 1960s and early 1970s, CZ—alongside Husqvarna and Maico—dominated international competition, winning multiple World Championships.
The 1973 model year represents the end of that era—a true “changing of the guard” moment, as bikes like the Honda CR250R Elsinore emerged and reshaped the sport.
Legends who raced CZ:
-
Joel Robert – 250cc World Champion (1964, 1968, 1969)
-
Roger DeCoster – Early CZ rider before becoming a 5-time 500cc World Champion
-
Jaroslav Falta – Factory CZ star, widely considered one of the fastest riders of the era
This bike is not just a motorcycle—it is a cornerstone of motocross history, representing the final chapter of European factory dominance.
