1972 HONDA SL70
Concours Frame-Off Restoration
Absolutely Stunning| 3,000 Original Miles | Museum-Quality Investment, Please Watch the Video For Details
There are motorcycles that simply bring back memories, and then there are motorcycles that remind you why so many of us fell in love with riding in the first place. This 1972 Honda SL70 is one of those motorcycles.
Finished in its iconic red, white, and blue factory color scheme, this beautifully restored SL70 represents an era when Honda gave young riders something priceless—freedom. For countless kids in the early 1970s, the SL70 was their first taste of independence. It could take you down the street, through the woods, to a friend's house, or on your very first adventure long before you were old enough to drive a car.
Today, more than 55 years later, finding one in this condition is virtually impossible.
This motorcycle has received an exceptional concours-level frame-off restoration and is, without question, the finest SL70 we have owned in our 15 years of restoring and selling vintage Hondas. With only 3,000 original miles, the restoration itself has accumulated approximately 30 careful break-in miles since completion.
Every component was meticulously restored or refurbished with one goal in mind: returning this Honda to showroom condition while preserving its originality.

The frame was refinished in the correct factory silver, while every painted surface on the motorcycle was restored to factory appearance. The original chrome throughout the motorcycle is remarkable. The tail light housing has been professionally rechromed and presents beautifully.
The engine starts easily, idles smoothly, shifts flawlessly, and runs exactly as a properly restored Honda four-stroke should. The original exhaust produces the unmistakable, mellow Honda thumper sound that instantly transports you back to the early 1970s.
Investment Quality
Restoring one of these motorcycles correctly is no small undertaking.
This frame-off restoration required 70 hours of shop labor at a Value of $150 PH = $10,500, before accounting for paint, parts, plating, and countless restoration details.
The result is a motorcycle that simply cannot be duplicated economically.
This SL70 is an investment quality museum piece. In fact, selling it is difficult for us. However, we're currently investing heavily in the expansion of our new Ducati dealership, including approximately a quarter-million dollars in dealership fixtures, tooling, and equipment, so we've made the difficult decision to offer this exceptional motorcycle to its next caretaker.
If you're searching for one of the finest restored Honda SL70s available anywhere, your search is over. At the time of this listing, we are unaware of another example online for sale that matches this motorcycle's level of restoration, originality, and presentation.
Whether you add it to a museum collection, display it in your home or office, or occasionally enjoy it on sunny weekends, this Honda represents one of the smartest investments in the vintage mini-bike market.
The craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall presentation make this one of the nicest SL70s we've ever had the privilege of offering.
