Long Live the Two-Stroke!

Feast your eyes on the most collectible modern-era two-strokes ever built — the 2022 GasGas MC250, the final generation carbureted 250cc two-stroke from the KTM/GasGas platform. If you know motocross history, you already understand why bikes like this matter.

This isn’t just another used motocross bike.

This machine has NEVER TOUCHED DIRT.

That’s right — this bike has been a display piece only since new and remains in absolutely pristine, showroom-condition collector quality. The tires still have the hairy nubs on them, the plastics look like they just came out of the crate, and the entire bike is stunning top to bottom.

Junior actually wanted to leave this one in the crate and stash it away as a long-term investment piece. Normally we don’t talk about modern motocross bikes as collectibles… but when you’re talking about the last carbureted GasGas/KTM 250 two-stroke, that changes the conversation entirely.

Why These Bikes Matter

The carbureted KTM/GasGas 250 engine platform is legendary for durability and performance.

Robbie Marshall from Crow Hill Motorsports famously raced one with over 300 hours on it and beat a KTM factory rider at a national-level event in Maine. That says everything you need to know about the capability and longevity of these engines.

These bikes are:

  • Lightweight

  • Violently fast when on the pipe & Very manageable Down Low = Perfect Power Everywhere

  • Extremely durable

  • Easy to maintain

  • Already becoming iconic among two-stroke enthusiasts

If you’re looking for a modern collectible, race weapon, or both… this is it.

Upgrades & Features

This MC250 has been tastefully upgraded while still remaining essentially brand new:

  • Bills Pipe & Bills Silencer
Incredible sound and performance upgrade. If you’ve ever heard one of these on the pipe, you already know.

  • Kaplan Cycles Works Edition Graphics Kit
Custom in-house graphics designed by Chrissy Steiger of Steiger Designs. Gives the bike a factory “Works Edition” appearance.

  • Upgraded Dunlop Tires

  • Gold Chain Upgrade

  • Fresh VP race fuel

  • Fully serviced

  • Filters serviced

  • Ready to ride, race, collect, or display

Other than those tasteful upgrades, the bike remains exactly how it came from the factory.

Condition

This motorcycle is essentially brand new.

  • Never raced

  • Never ridden in dirt

  • Never abused

  • Never dropped

  • Never modified internally

  • Display use only since new

The frame, engine cases, plastics, wheels, suspension, controls, and bodywork are all in immaculate condition.

This is the type of bike that belongs:

  • In a serious motorcycle collection

  • On the mezzanine of a dream barn

  • In a two-stroke museum

  • Or at the starting gate ripping hole shots

Final Thoughts

The motorcycle business is a labor of love. If we could keep every special bike that came through here, we would. This is one of those bikes that’s hard to let go of.

But if you’re a Kaplan Cycles fan, a serious collector, a two-stroke enthusiast, or someone looking for one of the finest examples of the last carbureted GasGas MC250s left in existence — your ship just came in.

Good luck bidding.

God Bless America, and long live the two-stroke.
